Pilot Licences

As everyone's needs are different we recommend you contact us to see the range of training options available.

PPL - Private Pilot Licence

This is the first licence for anyone who is interested in learning to fly. You will learn basic flight manoeuvres and navigation, as well critical skills such as decision making. The course includes flight and ground instruction from a certified flight instructor.

As a qualified pilot you will be licensed to fly single engine aircraft of up to 12,500lbs. The PPL is valid for both day and night flying. A private pilot may carry passengers with no distance limitations so long as not for commercial purposes.

Estimated cost: $9000 USD

IR - Instrument Rating

Throughout the Instrument Pilot course the student will learn the skills necessary to fly an aircraft under instrument flight rules (IFR). This entails learning to fly the aircraft solely by reference to instruments. The student will acquire the necessary skills to fly the aircraft in the clouds as well as under air traffic control (ATC) guidance.
As an instrument rated pilot, an airmen is capable of flying in a multitude of different weather scenarios. Having this rating opens significant options for a pilot who wishes to advance their flight experience and/or careers. The skills learned during this course are an integral part of becoming an accomplished airmen and will significantly improve the flight capabilities of any pilot.

Estimated cost:

CPL - Commercial Pilot Licence

CPL training involves a big step forward in a pilot's career and capabilities. As a commercial pilot you will be able to fly aircraft for compensation. CPL holders who also hold an Instrument Rating can fly unlimited distances for hire during daytime and night time.

The skills and certification gained from the CPL course are essential for any pilot who wants to work in the aviation industry. The skill set is also of significant value to private pilots who want to improve their flying skill.

Estimated cost:

Multi-Engine License

A Multi-Engine license is available for both private and commercial pilots.

The Multi-Engine license allows a pilot to expand their flying experience to larger, more powerful aircraft. Mastering the additional speed and complexity of a Mult-Engine aircraft demonstrates a high level of aviation skill. The Multi-Engine license is required for nearly all airline job applicants.

Estimated cost:

Certified Flight Instructor License

Training as a Certified Flight Instructor is available for Commercial Pilots who wish to become instructors.  During the course you will receive extensive ground instruction in subjects needed to train future pilots for PPL, IR and ME ratings.

Subjects studied include aerodynamics, meteorology, regulations and air law. You will also receive training in the Fundamentals of Instruction which includes essential skills in learning process, barriers to learning, effective communication and teaching methods.
